- BlackBerry Internet Service - new professional mobile e-mail solution available to all users
- Synchronization of up to ten e-mail accounts, web browsing and instant messaging
- Monthly fee of as little as CZK 299 incl. VAT includes unlimited data transfers
Prague 31 October 2008 - Beginning today, T-Mobile's portfolio of services includes the BlackBerry Internet Service, offering a professional solution for mobile e-mail access without the need of additional investments in specialized software. The new service can be activated with all BlackBerry handsets, including the popular 8310 and Bold models featuring a QWERTZ keyboard and a large display. The monthly fee of as little as CZK 251 (CZK 299 incl. VAT) already includes unlimited data transfers for e-mail synchronization and internet access.
"The BlackBerry solution, which has been available since 2005, has become very popular among medium-sized and large companies, though certain small companies might have found the need to have their own mail server to be a somewhat limiting aspect," says Martina Kemrová, Senior Head of Corporate Communication and spokeswoman for T-Mobile, adding: "Thanks to our new service, which is offered under advantageous conditions and does not require our customers to have their own IT infrastructure, BlackBerry can be easily used by all customers, including the smallest companies or individual end users."
The BlackBerry Internet Service supports push e-mail, allowing continuous synchronization of up to ten e-mail accounts at the same time via the POP3 or IMPA4 protocol, while preserving the key advantages of the BlackBerry solution: stability, high level of security and user-friendly navigation. It can be used with both company servers and any of the free mail services (e.g. Seznam.cz, Centrum.cz, Gmail.com, etc.). Their design and environment makes BlackBerry handsets perfect tools for working comfortably with e-mails and their attachments. However, these smartphones also come equipped with many additional advanced features, such as a camera, web browser, multimedia player, and GPS navigation.
The service is intended for all contract customers and can be easily activated directly on the device. Setting up the access to selected e-mail accounts is completely intuitive, so you can be up and running in just a few steps, without IT support. The monthly fee of CZK 251 (CZK 299 incl. VAT) for using the service already includes all data transfers while synchronizing e-mails (including their attachments), browsing the internet or communicating via instant messaging. The only exception may be certain third-party applications using an access point other than APN BlackBerry (typically navigation or map software). No FUP applies to data transfers within the monthly fee.
Customers who activate the BlackBerry Internet Service between 1 November and 31 January 2009 will be able to use the service free of charge for one month. Thus they can first test the service free of charge and then decide, based on their experience with it, whether they wish to continue using it. Companies that already use any of the other BlackBerry solutions (e.g. the robust BlackBerry Enterprise Server) can use the BlackBerry Internet Service completely free. Customers will therefore be able to read and send both business and private e-mails using one handset.
