- A new service for Twist customers allows up to five emergency calls without credit
- Notification via SMS within the TMCZ network, and by a short ring to other mobile numbers
Prague, 19 May 2008 - Twist customers no longer need to worry that they will not be able to contact their friends and relatives because of insufficient credit. A new service, launched on 19 May, allows them to make a connection with any number registered in any of the Czech mobile networks even when they have low credit. Instead of hearing only the unwanted automated response "We're sorry but your credit is not sufficient to make a call", users will now also be offered the possibility to either send the called person a text message or to notify him or her with a short ring. Customers can use this possibility up to five times before they top up their credit. Each time that the credit is topped up and exceeds CZK 10, the counter is set to zero and the customer can use another five SMS/short ring notifications when necessary.
Customers are offered the possibility of sending an "emergency" text message or notifying the called person via a short ring only if they:
- have insufficient credit to make the call
- are not abroad and therefore are not using roaming
- are calling a number registered in one of the Czech mobile networks
- have not used all five emergency notifications available
Sending a text message
If customers call a T-Mobile number, they are offered the option of sending a free SMS to the person they wish to call. After this SMS is successfully delivered to the called person, they will receive a confirmation message.
Notifying the called person with a short ring
When customers call a number registered in any other Czech mobile network, they can choose to notify the called person with a short ring. This is a minimum-length call intended only for notification of the called person. If such person manages to receive this call, he or she will hear an invitation to call the calling party back. In the case that the called number cannot be reached (either because the person is speaking to someone else or because the phone is switched off or out of signal range), the short ring is not made and this attempt is not counted against the limit of five available notifications unless it is redirected to the called person's voice mailbox. Customers are again informed of the success of their notification attempt via SMS.
If the calling party has blocked the identification of his or her number, identification is enabled so that the called person can see the number from which the call is made.
