EURO 2012 exclusively with T-Mobile

  • Three  special football applications
  • Gifts at all T-Mobile shops
  • “Border controls”
  • Free tickets for a warm-up match with Hungary

Prague, 29 May 2012 – Czech fans are getting ready for EURO 2012 and T-Mobile as the general sponsor of the national football team wants to add to their enjoyment. Football fans can look forward to new football applications, an interesting gift at T-Mobile shops, special border controls and a limited T-Mobile edition of player trading cards.

“The Czech national football team and T-Mobile have been inseparably linked for a number of years. After four years, fans have again lived to see the team’s presence at the top European event and we want to make this football highlight as enjoyable as possible for them,” says František Mala, Marketing Director at T-Mobile.

Three T-Mobile applications will not be missing in the equipment of any good fan. The first one, called ME2012 (2012 European Championship), will offer all necessary information: complete results, team rosters and behind-the-scenes gossip, as well as an opportunity to send a message to the national team and competitions for attractive prizes. Fotbálek (Foosball), or table football for one or two players, is designed to fill the fans’ free time. The third application, Fandi nahlas (Cheer aloud), contains traditional stadium cheering sounds, such as drums, trumpets and a rattle. All the applications are designed for telephones with Android and iOS operating systems. From the start of the tournament, ME2012 will also be available for the Windows Phone platform. The ME2012 application was developed for T-Mobile by Inmite, the other two applications by Symbio.

Those who do not have a smart phone yet will not be left out. Everyone who is old enough and purchases anything at a T-Mobile shop during the days when Petr Čech and his teammates fight for points in the group stage will get a can of limited-edition Gambrinus beer with football graphics as a gift. Savouring a match with the new Gambrinus Originál 10° beer will be possible while supplies last.

Fans heading for Poland will meet “Border Controls” on the main roads towards Wroclaw. The controls will occupy the last five petrol stations before the border on the routes from Liberec, Ostrava and Hradec Králové when the Czech team plays a match. They will equip T-Mobile customers with essential fan accessories – scarves, face-paint flags, limited-edition beer cans, etc.

Collectors will surely be pleased with a special T-Mobile set of player cards featuring seven players photographed by Jan Tauber, the official photographer of the Czech national team. The cards will be available at T-Mobile shops or through competitions, whether in the ME2012 application or on Facebook.

Before the tournament itself starts, on 1 June the Czech team will play a warm-up match with Hungary at Letná in Prague. T-Mobile has provided its customers with more than a thousand free tickets; the tickets were handed out at Prague shops on Thursday morning literally within a few minutes.
