In addition to xDSL, fixed-line internet access technologies now also include LTE
Three alternatives of fixed-line internet differing in download and upload speeds
Maximum access speeds now reach 100 Mbps
T-Mobile is expanding coverage with its fixed-line internet service to at least 97% of households in the Czech Republic: in addition to the existing access by means of xDSL technology, the operator is adding the possibility of access via LTE. Thanks to extensive coverage with this mobile technology, T-Mobile can now offer fast fixed-line internet service also in areas where it was not possible in the past (e.g., because of slow or missing xDLS technology) and with faster access speeds – the service now offers maximum download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The operator now offers its fixed-line internet service in three variants that are intended for residential customers and self-employed individuals (see the table below).
When customers express interest in any of the variants, T-Mobile will always select the most advantageous of the two access alternatives (xDSL/LTE) in terms of availability of the service in the particular customer’s area. If both technologies are available, the technology offering better access quality will be selected. The Pevný internet 100 (“Fixed-line Internet 100”) variant is available only with LTE technology.
Connection by means of LTE technology always requires fixed installation of the service at the given place and, thanks to an external antenna, is able to provide stable high-quality signal over long distances. When customers sign a 24-month contract (and honour this fixed contract term), expert installation including the setup of the service costs only CZK 1.
Fixed-line internet from T-Mobile (whether provided by means of LTE or xDSL) also enables the use of T-Mobile TV. When activating any fixed-line internet service, customers will receive a CZK 100 discount per month on their TV plan (except when activating the Pevný internet Základ – “Fixed-Line Internet Basic” plan).
The availability of fixed-line internet in a particular location can be verified at www.t-mobile.cz/internet-na-doma.
