Milan Vašina (1969), currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of T-Mobile Czech Republic TMCZ) and Slovak Telekom (ST), decided to leave the Deutsche Telekom Group (DT) and asked the Board of Directors to release him from the role of CEO effective October 1st,, 2018. On the same date. Jose Perdomo Lorenzo (1971) will follow him as the CEO of T-Mobile TMCZ and Slovak Telekom ST, having become a member of the TMCZ and ST Board of Directors on July 1, 2018. He will use the interim period for onboarding before he will fully take over Milan’s responsibilities as CEO.

„The last 21 years were extremely interesting but now I feel it´s time to make a fundamental change and convey an imaginary relay pin further,” Vašina comments his decision, adding: „I am grateful I was a part of the development of such an important and dynamic branch and took an active role in introducing brand new things“.

Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, says: "It is always hard to say goodbye to someone you have worked with for more than 20 years, especially someone as exceptional as Milan. He has been a very big part of building our CZ and SK businesses into a market leading converged operator. Milan has stood out not only because of his commercial acumen but especially because of his values and leadership of people. I wish him luck with the next step of his career."

Srini Gopalan, Deutsche Telekom Board member for Europe: "Milan has been central to driving the very successful integration of CZ and SK. Even though I have only worked with him for 18 months, I have personally benefited from his clarity of thought and inspirational leadership. I wish him all the best for his future career. “He adds: „I would like to welcome Jose to our organization. Jose is a truly international manager with width of experience across industries and depth of telco expertise. He has spent the last 4 years driving the very successful turnaround of Tigo Paraguay as CEO. Jose will drive forward our strategy based on Convergence, Digitization and Growth Mindset in our integrated CZ and SK business. I am looking forward to working with him. “

“I am very excited to join the DT Group, an industry leader and trend setter in the very dynamic telecom sector,” says Jose Perdomo Lorenzo on his new role. “I have always admired the brand, the strategy and the performance of DT´s branches in the Czech and Slovak markets. I will focus my efforts to support the company in achieving further sustainable growth and transformation.”

Milan Vašina started his career in Paegas, later T-Mobile, in 1997 in the Czech Republic. In 2002, he joined T-Mobile Slovakia as Marketing Director and in 2007 became CEO.
