A total of 113 applications were submitted in this year’s edition of the T-Mobile Mluvme spolu (“Let’s Talk to Each Other“) grant programme: 96 from non-profit organisations, 15 from informal groups and two from local communities. The largest number of applications were from Prague (40) and the Moravia-Silesia region (13). A total of CZK 3,027,565 will be distributed among the grant recipients.

“By means of the grants we help people and community initiatives that make ordinary streets, boroughs, communities and cities a good place to live. We are happy that we received applications from nearly all regions and that the supported projects will help socially disadvantaged groups and disabled people,” says Eva Karasová, CSR Manager at T-Mobile, adding: “We have long been supporting projects that spur changes for the better and have a long-term positive effect.”

The maximum amount that can be applied for is CZK 100,000; a condition was that a minimum of 10% of a project’s funding must be provided by means of financial participation of the recipient, material support or volunteer work. Projects seeking support from the grant programme must be implemented in the period between 1 October 2017 and 30 September 2018.

The grants distributed within this year’s edition of the programme will again help improve communication in various associations, groups and communities, improve specific areas of various regions and address the issue of cooperation with or integration of different groups. The received applications include requests for assistance within integration of people with different types of disabilities, requests for support of educational, community and recreation centres and volunteering, support for families and mothers with children who are at risk of social exclusion and support for the cohabitation of generations and intergenerational contact.
