Sea Hero downloaded by more than 100,000 people in the Czech Republic

T-Mobile Czech Republic achieved one of the highest numbers of downloads within Deutsche Telekom Group.

The Sea Hero mobile game, which will help scientists in the fight against dementia, has been downloaded by more than 100,000 people in the Czech Republic. Within Deutsche Telekom Group, T-Mobile Czech Republic achieved one of the highest numbers of downloads. Out of the countries in which DT Group operates and which have a comparable number of inhabitants, only Hungary was the country in which the game was downloaded by a larger number of users (more than 120,000). In absolute figures, the highest number of downloads was achieved in the United States (more than 150,000); its population, however, is roughly 30 times larger than that of the Czech Republic.

T-Mobile Czech Republic began promotion of the game on 4 May at a press conference in Prague’s Karolinum, the seat of Charles University, in cooperation with Prof. Jakub Hort of the Department of Neurology, 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and Motol University Hospital, who is the specialist sponsor of the Sea Hero project in the Czech Republic, and the Alzheimer’s Endowment Fund. In May, the operator gradually launched a marketing campaign (using TV, outdoor, online, print and in-store channels), which was followed by a Facebook campaign titled Nebuď dement (Don’t be mental) in June. In connection with the campaign, a video by the popular Czech YouTuber Jirka Král was created and received nearly 230,000 views within 12 days of being posted.

In July, T-Mobile will support Sea Hero at the summer music festivals of which it is a partner, namely the Rock for People and Kryštof Kemp festivals.

Exactly one month ago, the operator reported that the game had been downloaded worldwide by one million users on their smartphones and tablets, who by playing the game provided scientists with data corresponding to more than 1,500 years of standard research (see the press release here).
