- T-Mobile the general partner at least until 2014
Prague, 3 September 2012 – T-Mobile’s name will continue to be linked with the best Czech footballers. The operator’s contract with the company STES, the holder of marketing and advertising rights of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR), has been extended today. T-Mobile will continue to be the general partner of the Czech national football team at least until the next World Cup, which will be hosted by Brazil in 2014.
“The Czech national team definitely did not let the fans down at the EURO. I hope that even in the forthcoming qualification rounds, the form and reputation of the national team will improve further,” says Milan Vašina, Managing Director of T-Mobile, adding: “The support of fans at the European championship in Poland was fantastic. We would like this close connection with the national team to continue, for example at the tournament in Brazil.”
The president of the FAČR, Miroslav Pelta, welcomes the extension of the contract: “We are of course happy that our cooperation with such a significant partner will continue. T-Mobile has been sharing the fortunes of the national team for a number of years, and even the results of the national team, which has advanced four times to the European championship and once to the World Cup during the course of our cooperation, show that this is an alliance of two strong players.”
T-Mobile has been the general partner of the national football team since 1998. In this qualification period, the company wants to focus in particular on even closer connection between players and fans and on improving the image of the national team. Before this year’s European championship, autograph sessions and other events where fans could meet the national-team members were very popular. T-Mobile would also like to offer its customers more benefits arising from the partnership with the Football Association of the Czech Republic.
