T-Mobile launches a web application for the Smart Car service. Customers will benefit from easier access to information

Prague, 3 April 2019 – Smart Car (Chytré auto) is a service from T-Mobile, which can make every car smart thanks to a special device inserted the OBD port. In addition to sending information about the car to the application on a mobile phone, the device newly makes information available for customers on a dedicated website. Moreover, customers do not have to install or later update anything. All they need is a web browser. All information is saved and backed up on a server and, after logging in, customers can access it from any computer.

By launching the web application, T-Mobile is responding to the wishes of customers themselves. It is welcomed particularly by business customers, which now account for several thousand Smart Car users. In terms of their subject of business, these customers are not only logistics companies, as it may seem, but also include companies in various sectors, from construction to cleaning companies and tourism.

The need for easier and more convenient access to information from the comfort of one’s office – that was the most frequent feedback from our customers,” says Otakar Mráz, Senior Manager of Consumer IoT HUB, whose team is in charge of the introduction of the product throughout Europe, adding: “Business customers in particular now appreciate the possibility of seeing on a computer screen where all of the cars in their fleet are located at a particular moment, how many kilometres they have driven, where they are located etc.” Customers can comfortably export details about individual trips, including differentiation of private and business trips, as a basis for driving records.

Cars can still be registered and added to the application only via the Smart Car mobile application. Customers can log in to the web application directly at www.t-mobile.cz/chytreauto; the login name and password are the same as for the application. The web application is available in the Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers.

Note:

Customers using the Smart Car service within the European Union have a whole range of things under control, such as:

  • vehicle location
  • driver behaviour and basic statistics
  • battery level

  • indicative malfunction diagnostics
  • notification of vehicle towing, vibrations, device removal, departure from a designated area and speed limit
  • free assistance service

The Smart Car service was developed by T-Mobile Czech Republic in partnership with Mojio. The service is now successfully operating not only in the Czech Republic, but also on the American, German, Austrian and Polish markets.
