T-MOBILE SUPPORTS SELF-EMPLOYED FAMILIES, 500 FAMILIES EQUIPPED WITH NOTEBOOKS AND INTERNET CONNECTION

  • In the coming months, T-Mobile will provide families with 500 laptops and need a fast, free internet connection
  • Joins Nora Fridrichová's charitable initiative by supporting distance education for children of single parents

Prague, 16 October 2020 - In the coming months, T-Mobile will equip five hundred single-parent families with laptops and high-speed internet connections free of charge. The operator has joined the charitable initiative of journalist Nora Fridrichová, and thus responds to the burning problem of the current weeks, which prevents many children from participating in distance learning. Nora Fridrichová has been dealing with the issue of single women for a long time. He will select the necessary families together with teachers and renowned non-profit organizations.

"For single-parent families with a lack of funds, the current situation must be unimaginably difficult. At the same time, education is absolutely essential for the lives of their children. We therefore consider it important to at least facilitate the situation for them in this way. The small project of Nora Fridrichová has inspired a number of donors in a few days and has inspired us as well. I would like our move to start another wave. In order for other people, entrepreneurs and companies to join as much as possible, and at the same time for other large donors to appear as soon as possible, who will “top” us, “said Petr Jonák, T-Mobile's Director of Corporate Affairs.

"Thank you very much to the teachers for asking me for a laptop for their student. The stories of the children they write to me are not easy to read, but they confirm how key cantors play in children's lives. We deserve a big thank you from our parents for that. We will at least help with the equipment, for the purchase of which we thank our donors, "says Nora Fridrichová.

The spring closure of schools has shown that distance learning is unavailable to many pupils precisely because of the lack of IT equipment or internet connection. That is why T-Mobile decided to support the initiative of Nora Fridrichová. In the near future, the first hundred laptops, including connections (modem plus data SIM card), will go to the necessary ones. T-Mobile, in coordination with Nora Fridrichová and non-profit organizations, will gradually hand over additional equipment in the coming months.
