Vladan Pekovič becomes the new Chief Technology and IT Officer for T-Mobile Czech Republic and Slovak Telekom

T-Mobile announces a change in the company's top management. Vladan Pekovič has been appointed as the company's new Chief Technology and IT Officer since August 17 for the Czech and Slovak markets. Pekovič comes as an experienced manager from Telekom Romania, where he remains CEO, in order to ensure a smooth transition towards the completion of the transaction pending in Romania. In his new role, he will focus on the further development of next generation networks and digitization.

Prague, 17. August 2021 - Pekovič has been working within the Deutsche Telekom Group since 2009. Prior to his promotion to CEO, he headed the IT and Technology Division in Romania from 2017-2020 and in Montenegro in 2014-2017. He also gained his many years of work experience in other technological positions in countries such as the USA, Poland and Algeria. As Executive Director of the IT and Technology Division, he will continue the successful technological transformation and digitization with an emphasis on the expansion of optical and 5G networks.

Pekovič is replacing Branimir Marič, who remains in the company until August 31, 2021. Since 2012, Marič has been responsible for IT and technology at Slovak Telekom, and since 2016 also at T-Mobile CZ. During his tenure, he managed the successful modernization of the entire operation, including the integration of systems in both countries. He led the strategic development of next-generation networks such as optical networks and the launch of 4G and 5G. It was a part of technological tests in Slovakia and during its operation Slovak Telekom received 7 × Best in Test award from P3 / umlaut for the best mobile networks in Slovakia. He has also been involved in the transformation of many technologies, including digital AII-IP.
