Prague, 28 April 2011 – T-Mobile’s roll out of its 3G network using the advanced HSPA+ technology is continuing as planned. In April, the operator covered additional locations with the 3G technology, conquering the first hundred of the Czech Republic’s larger towns. The technology is now available to a total of 114 towns and 292 smaller communities and villages. T-Mobile's 3G network thus covers 45% of the country’s population.

April weather does not worry T-Mobile technicians. They are sticking to the plan and continuing to build the network despite rain and wind. Residents of Vrchlabí, Trutnov, Chomutov, Uherské Hradiště, Jičín in East Bohemia and Nový Jičín in Moravia as well as other towns and communities can thus enjoy the country’s fastest data connectivity.

A total of 1,221 base stations are now in operation. The biggest location covered by the 3G network in April is Chomutov with a population of 51,785, while the smallest location with the 3G signal is Kuřimany u Strakonic with a population of 28.

Customers still have an opportunity to test the speed of the network and signal strength in any location in the Czech Republic free of charge. All they need to do is visit any T-Mobile shop and borrow, against a returnable deposit of CZK 2,000, a data SIM card with the Internet na cesty bundle together with the Huawei E1823 USB modem, which supports the HSPA+ technology. The equipment can be borrowed for seven days.
