Q3 2017: T-MOBILE CZ CONSOLIDATES ITS POSITION AS THE NUMBER-ONE OPERATOR IN THE MOBILE SEGMENT, FOCUSING ON THE FMC MARKET

128,000 new mobile customers added during the first three quarters
Revenue growth yoy of almost 3.2%
The successful launch of the fixed internet over the air service brought 18,000 new fixed broadband customers
The company is preparing investments in fixed technologies in the near future

The first three quarters of 2017 were extraordinarily successful for T-Mobile Czech Republic. Not only did the company consolidate its position as the number-one operator in the mobile market, adding 128,000 new customers and increasing its lead over its closest competitors, but it also successfully launched the fixed internet over the air service, signing up 18,000 new customers for this new product alone.

These promising numbers underline the carrier’s focus on its positions in the fixed and convergent markets and its dedication to becoming the first choice in the area of convergent household services.

“The telecommunications industry is changing fast and our future lies in FMC, fixed-mobile convergence,” says Milan Vašina, Managing Director of T-Mobile Czech Republic and Slovak Telekom, adding: “For us at T-Mobile, it means we will need to invest massively in fixed technologies. We are ready to do so in the very near future.”

T-Mobile Czech Republic continues to be a trusted innovator and a driving force for the modern and competitive local economy. Its network with LTE high-speed internet now covers 98.3% (Q3 2016: 90.7%) of the country’s population, with improvements concentrated on speed increases. The fixed internet over air service offers the benefits of high-speed internet to customers in remote areas. The company is also busy preparing its network for next-generation technologies (eSIM, 5G, IoT).

The time-shift feature has been extended to 72 hours and is available on all of the platform’s more than 180 channels.
