T-Mobile and Huawei have entered into an outsourcing contract for network build services and field operations

Prague, 27 September 2012 – T-Mobile Czech Republic and Huawei Technologies have signed today an outsourcing contract for network build services and field operations. The aim of the agreement is to make use of strategic and financial advantages of outsourcing while maintaining at least the same levels of quality of the provided services. The deal has been concluded for five years and the first stage involving a transfer of activities and employees should be finished by the end of this year.

“Strategic outsourcing is an effective approach in order to increase business efficiency in the world of telecommunications. It is therefore a logical step,” says Frank Meywerk, CTO of T-Mobile, adding: “Network quality has always been and will continue to be the top priority for us. I am convinced that in cooperation with our partner, we will continue to provide our customers with the highest quality in the Czech Republic.”

“As part of our professional services portfolio, outsourcing represents one of our strategic development areas. We are pleased to extend our relationship with T-Mobile, benefitting their operations and T-Mobile customers by leveraging our experience of similar projects with telecom operators on the Czech market,“ adds Zbynek Pardubsky from Huawei.

Use of synergistic effects, operational optimisation and a transformation model change should bring a significant increase in efficiency to T-Mobile. The supplier, who has been selected in a tender, will take charge of activities concerning network build services and field operations in area of mobile networks for five years.

Within the first stage, starting in Q4/2012, these activities will be moved under Huawei’s administration. The agreement also involves a transfer of more than 100 employees from the affected units. By the end of this year, the     functionality of the new organisational model should be stabilised. Collaboration with the supplier will be the responsibility of a special team at T-Mobile, which will also supervise the quality of the provided services.
