Automatic activation of one-day bundles discontinued
Data services will newly be activated only upon the customer’s confirmation

Prague, 9 June 2014 – On 15 June, T-Mobile will launch a new method of activating data services via an activation page. As the first operator in the Czech Republic to do so, T-Mobile will thus offer its customers the possibility of having convenient and absolute control over their data bills. At the same time, automatic activation of one-day bundles, mostly triggered, for instance, on smartphones by means of automatic updates, will be discontinued. The use of data services will thus become even more convenient and comprehensible for customers.

“The popularity of data services among our customers has been growing rapidly. But there is still a significant percentage of those customers who are concerned about using these services due to insufficient control over their bills,” says Milan Hába, Vice President Category and Products at T-Mobile, adding: “After the introduction of the new method of activating data services, there will no longer be any reason for such concerns – at least if users are with T-Mobile.”

After opening a browser in their mobile devices, customers will automatically land on the activation page, where they can choose among the basic options: they can purchase a one-day bundle or a one-month bundle. If they do not opt for any of those, no data services will be activated (and therefore no payment will be required).

The activation page will only appear if a customer’s device is connected to T-Mobile’s mobile network and the customer opens a web browser on their smartphone without data services being activated at that particular time.
