t-music presents a SIMPLE PLAN

  • Competition at www.t-music.cz/simpleplan for 50 tickets. Eight winners will meet the band
  • The new Simple Plan album available exclusively at t-music PLAY!

Prague, 3 April 2008 - t-music is bringing another top band to play in the Czech Republic. The popular Canadian band SIMPLE PLAN will stage a concert in Prague on Sunday, 27 April. And thanks to t-music, T-Mobile customers can also enter a competition by 4 April for 50 tickets to the concert. In addition to this, eight people will also be able to meet the band in person.

The pop-punk group from Montreal will perform at the Small Sports Hall (Malá sportovní hala) in Prague's Holešovice district. This concert will be part of their European tour to support their new self-titled album, Simple Plan, which was released in February. The band's third record is definitely their most ambitious album and the band is quite open about their determination to outdo the success of their previous two releases.

Thanks to t-music, all T-Mobile customers have the opportunity to win tickets to the concert by providing an answer to a simple question available at www.t-music.cz/simpleplan. Those entering the competition will be asked to choose one of three possible answers and send it as an SMS with SOUTEZSIMPLEA (or B or C) to 4616. The SMS is priced according to the customer's tariff plan.

Twenty-five people who provided correct answers will then win two concert tickets each. In addition, eight people will have a chance to meet the members of SIMPLE PLAN in person.

Those who cannot make it to the concert can access SIMPLE PLAN's songs in T-Mobile's digital music eshop, t-music PLAY!, which is currently the exclusive provider of the Simple Plan's latest album in the Czech Republic. The song "My Love Is A Lie" can be downloaded free of charges as a gift to all Simple Plan fans.

SIMPLE PLAN debuted with their No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls album in November 2002, which was followed by Still Not Getting Any... in October 2004. Both of these albums went platinum.

However, the band's history dates back to 1995 when singer Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau, today's core members of SIMPLE PLAN, founded a band called Reset when they were fifteen, staging a fair number of concerts around Canada in less than five years, mostly as the opening act of then-better-known pop-punk bands such as Face To Face, MxPx or Ten Foot Pole. After Bouvier and Comeau left Reset, they founded SIMPLE PLAN in early 2000, together with the bassist David Desrosiers and guitarists Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre.

The band soon signed a contract with the Canadian branch of Atlantic Records and, in less then two years, released their debut album, which included two smash hits, "Perfect" and "I'd Do Anything", with backing vocals provided by Mark Hoppus from Blink 182. SIMPLE PLAN spent the following two years touring the world and becoming hugely successful, particularly in Japan. They also gained a solid foothold in the United States thanks to their presence on the Warped Tour.

The band's second album brought much more mature production, arrangements and lyrics and topped the music charts during 2005, especially in Europe, thanks to the hits "Crazy" and "Welcome To My Life".

Work on the new album started in spring 2006 and lasted fifteen months, during which the band recorded songs with four different producers in Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Miami and San Diego. The album was released at the end of the last year with the first single "When I'm Gone", and SIMPLE PLAN embarked on a tour around the United States. The subsequent European tour started on 27 March in Helsinki and will end with the Prague concert in late April.

Tickets have been available for sale at Ticketpro and Ticketportal points of sale since 1 February 2008.
