Prague, 16 January 2009 - Today, T-Mobile is launching the latest BlackBerry mobile phone, the model 8900, in the Czech market. This successor of the popular BlackBerry 8310 brings a range of new and improved features, although it is several millimeters thinner and one gram lighter. The new BlackBerry 8900 from T‑Mobile can be purchased at prices starting at CZK 3,999 or for the unsubsidized price of CZK 9,799.

BlackBerry is the worldwide standard for corporate communication. Like other devices of this brand, the new BlackBerry 8900 supports push e-mail synchronization with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and Novell GroupWise e-mail servers. Of course, the device offers a high degree of security ensured with a password and the possibility of encoded access to corporate networks (with the support of the AES and 3DES algorithms).

Corporate customers will surely appreciate the WiFi support (IEEE 802.11b/g). This new feature allows fast and cheap access to corporate networks and e-mail, which is useful particularly during business trips abroad. Apart from WiFi, users of the BlackBerry 8900 can use the GPRS and EDGE mobile data networks, including all four GSM bands.

The device also supports the BlackBerry Internet Service for all customers who do not have their own e-mail server and use e-mail servers supporting the POP3 and IMAP protocols. The service may be conveniently configured directly from the phone and allows synchronization of up to ten mailboxes and downloading of attachments in standard formats.

The telephone is equipped with a full-fledged QWERTZ keyboard and an improved display with resolution of 480×360 dpi which is able to display 65,000 colors. Another convenient new feature is the integrated digital camera with resolution of 3.2 Mpix, which is also able to record videos with a resolution of 240×180 dpi. The device has a 256 MB integrated memory and a slot for micro SD cards with a capacity of up to 16 GB. The integrated multimedia player can handle all popular audio and video formats, including MP3, WMA, DivX, Xvid and WMV. The device comes with a pair of stereo headphones for listening to music. The device also has integrated GPS and pre-installed BlackBerry Maps support.

Despite all the new features and the improved display, the endurance of the BlackBerry 8900's battery remains spectacular. The 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery ensures 356 hours in standby mode or 330 minutes of talk time, and it only takes 2.5 hours to fully recharge the battery.
