Charity Advent at T-Mobile: Employees and customers helped

At T-Mobile, the pre-Christmas time is associated with help where it is most needed. This year, the operator has continued the activities in which employees and customers are regularly involved. The collection Let's Help Stories focused on employees whose families found themselves in a difficult life situation. At the same time, volunteers from T-Mobile fulfilled 340 Christmas wishes, especially of socially disadvantaged children and lonely seniors. The operator's stores have once again served as collection points for the Shoe Box project, and the pre-Christmas collection in the My T-Mobile app will support courses focused on the mental health of adolescents.

This year's 13th edition of the  Help Stories collection  once again shows how strong solidarity within a company can be. Twenty stories of T-Mobile employees whose lives have been affected by illness, injury or sudden family tragedy will be helped by the amount of CZK 1,007,000 – half of which was chosen by colleagues, the other half was added by T-Mobile. "Let's Help Stories is a reminder for us of what is really important in life. As part of our traditional employee collection, this year we are once again seeing a huge willingness of our colleagues to help those who find themselves in a situation that none of us wish to experience from one day to the next," says Martin Orgoník, Director of External Relations and Sustainability at T-Mobile. "This time, the help is directed, for example, to a colleague who was left alone with two small children after the sudden loss of her husband, or to the expensive treatment of a very serious illness by the relatives of our employees."

This year, T-Mobile employees also gave gifts under  the Christmas trees  to fulfill the wishes of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, lonely seniors or support abandoned animals in shelters. This year, 340 of them were collected.

On December 22, a special field will also open in the Advent calendar in the My T-Mobile app. Through it, customers will be able to support mental health courses directly at schools as part of the traditional Christmas collection. The collection is aimed at CZK 1 million and T-Mobile will double the amount collected from customers for the Nevypusť duši organization. "According to current surveys, young people are a very vulnerable group in terms of mental health, and it is up to us to provide them with the knowledge and tools to maintain and be able to take care of them. We appreciate T-Mobile's support in our more than ten-year mission," says Barbora Pšenicová, director of Nevypusť duši, z. s.

The general public also got involved through  the Shoe Box project  – all T-Mobile stores in the Czech Republic have once again become collection points for the Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren project. "The implementation of the collection is a great logistical challenge – we thank the employees, thanks to whose help in receiving, sorting and sending gifts donors can make children in need and their families happy this year as well," says Denisa Ratajová, manager of the Shoe Box collection.

As part of the year-round volunteer program, T-Mobile employees have been helping non-profit organizations, communities and individuals for 20 years. This year alone, over 500 of them have been involved in volunteer activities. The Christmas season is therefore not unique.
