Prague, 2 March 2009 - T-Mobile is announcing the fifth year of the T-Mobile Fund grant program. This year the company will distribute eight million crowns for the development of the civil sector. The grants are intended for organizations based in the regions where T-Mobile operates as well as for applicants from the entire Czech Republic recommended by T-Mobile employees. Each applicant can be granted up to CZK 100,000 for their project.
In collaboration with the Community Foundation of Euroregion Labe and the VIA Foundation, T-Mobile will distribute CZK 8 million from the T-Mobile Fund this year. From this amount, CZK 5 million will be distributed to organizations operating in the regions where T-Mobile has its offices and customer centres, i.e. in the Louny district, the Hradec Králové region and in the Prague 11 municipal district. The remaining CZK 3 million will be awarded to non-profit and contributory organizations and municipalities from the Czech Republic that will be selected from among those recommended by T-Mobile employees. The purpose of this initiative, which this year is being undertaken for the fourth time, is to raise the company's employees' interest in the activities taking place in the area where they live.
"The past five years have gone by quickly and I am glad that in that time the T-Mobile Fund has achieved a solid position in the non-profit sector not only in ?our' regions," says Jitka Chocová, CSR Manager at T‑Mobile, adding: "I am also very pleased to say that despite the difficult times of the current financial crisis, we are able to support non-profit organizations with the same amount of funding as in the previous year."
As in previous years, the maximum amount which can be granted to a single project is CZK 100,000. The application deadline is Monday, 20 April 2009 for the T-Mobile Fund focused on the Hradec Králové and Louny regions and Prague 11 district, and Monday, 4 May 2009 for the T-Mobile Employee Fund.
Applications for grants in the T-Mobile Fund's fifth year can be submitted by non-governmental non-profit organizations, organizations receiving contributions from the state budget, and municipalities whose projects are aimed at regional development and supporting local initiatives, i.e. activities focused on improving ecology and the social and cultural environment.
