Frank Meywerk to leave T-Mobile CZ

Technology Director of T-Mobile Czech Republic Frank Meywerk will leave the Company to serve in the same position at T-Mobile Netherlands.

Prague, March 12, 2013 – T-Mobile Czech Republic is announcing a personnel change in the top management: Technology Director Frank Meywerk (48) will leave the Company in order to fulfil a new role within the Deutsche Telekom group. As of 1 April 2013, he will serve as a Member of the Management Board of T-Mobile Netherlands and Director of Technology, replacing Sietse Sijperda, who has decided to leave the Deutsche Telekom group.

In his new position, Frank Meywerk will be in charge of technological strategy and planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of the mobile and fixed networks for voice and data and IT-systems.

Frank Meywerk has been working in the Deutsche Telekom group since June 2004 and he joined TMCZ in May 2009. Thanks to the long-term “Fastest Network” strategy that Frank Meywerk continuously promoted in network building and development, T-Mobile Czech Republic has become the mobile operator with the fastest data network on the mobile market. Frank also helped the Company to prepare for further related strategic steps including LTE network introduction and the respective spectrum auction; he also led successful negotiations which made T-Mobile CZ the first operator in the Czech Republic to launch a shared network.

Milan Vašina, CEO of TMCZ comments on the situation: “I very much respect Frank’s decision, even though I would like Frank to carry on our successful cooperation. I would like to thank Frank for his achievements and contribution to TMCZ’s successful years and wish him many successes both in his private and professional life.”

The hiring process for the Technology Director role has been initiated and you will be informed about the results. Until the new Technology Director is announced, Vladimír Klein will be the acting Technology Director.
