Current Board of Management member responsible for Europe to take over as new CFO of Thyssen-Krupp AG

Guido Kerkhoff, who has been responsible for the "Europe" department on the Deutsche Telekom AG Board of Management to date, has asked the Supervisory Board to terminate his contract three years ahead of schedule. The General Committee of the Supervisory Board will recommend that the Supervisory Board terminate the contract at its next meeting. Kerkhoff is set to take over as the new CFO of Thyssen-Krupp AG.

The CEO of Deutsche Telekom, René Obermann, thanked him for his important work in setting up the "Europe" Board department. "Guido Kerkhoff has established and successfully managed this area which is very important to Deutsche Telekom – despite the challenging overall economic situation in many of the countries under his charge. We would like to thank him for his work and great commitment and wish him every success with his new job."

Guido Kerkhoff has been a Board member of Deutsche Telekom AG since March 2009. He is responsible for the management of the Group's subsidiaries in Europe, which offer both fixed-network and mobile communications services. This includes the OTE group with companies in Greece, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria, the Magyar Telekom Group in Hungary and its subsidiaries in Montenegro, Macedonia as well as Slovak Telekom (Slovakia) and T-Hrvatski Telekom (Croatia). Since April 2010, he has also been responsible for mobile communications subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic, the joint venture in Great Britain and the international sales, service and marketing functions.

Since April 2002, Kerkhoff has held various management positions in the Finance department of Deutsche Telekom. He was appointed Head of Group Accounting and Controlling in 2006.

Having graduated in business administration, Kerkhoff began his career at VEW AG, where he worked for Group Accounting from 1995 through 1996. He then moved to Bertelsmann AG’s Corporate Accounting and Controlling division as Head of Department for Projects and Fundamental Policies, a post he held for over three years before departing the company.
