The results of the survey were announced at a formal banquet, held at Veletržní palác in conjunction with an exhibition by Annie Liebovitz (also in partnership with RadioMobil). Nokia took brand-of-the-year honors by a large margin in all three categories, Low-end, Manager, and Hi-tech. Both Ericsson and Motorola recorded second-place finishes. A jury of experts, consisting of writers for Mobil server and the newcomer Mobility, also awarded a special prize to one additional phone in each category. The winners were the Bosch 608/607 in the Low-end division, the Nokia 6110 in the Manager division, and the Ericsson SH888 in the top division.

The RadioMobil joint-stock company is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas. Its largest shareholders are České radiokomunikace a.s., with 51 percent, and the international consortium CMobil, which holds a 49 percent share. CMobil is made up of the German operator T-Mobil, the Italian operator TIM, PVT, Telekomunikační montáže Praha and Spořitelní kapitálová společnost.
The Paegas GSM network today covers more than 92 percent of the population of the Czech Republic. Customers can now take their Paegas mobile phones to 59 countries around the world and utilize the roaming services of 110 operators. As of the end of November, 1998, more than 350,000 customers were using the services of the Paegas GSM network.
