Distribution of a telephone directory of users of the Paegas GSM network is scheduled to begin in upcoming days. "What customers will be getting is the first telephone directory for a GSM network in the Czech Republic. The size of the publication is a clear indicator of the success our company and Paegas services have met with on the Czech market," said RadioMobil spokeswoman Tereza Kakosová.
The Paegas GSM telephone directory, a collaborative effort between RadioMobil and EDIT, is divided into two parts: a Yellow Pages, containing a listing of companies ordered by type, and a White Pages, containing both company and private listings. The directory has more than 800 pages.
The directory will be sent out to all companies and individuals who use Paegas services and who are also listed in the Commercial Registry free of charge by EDIT. Those not eligible for a free directory can purchase one at Paegas retail outlets.
The RadioMobil joint-stock company is the operator of the GSM network called Paegas. Its largest shareholders are České radiokomunikace a.s., with 51 percent, and the international consortium CMobil, which holds a 49 percent share. CMobil is made up of the German operator T-Mobil, the Italian operator TIM, PVT, Telekomunikační montáže Praha and Spořitelní kapitálová společnost.
The Paegas GSM network today covers more than 92 percent of the population of the Czech Republic. Customers can now take their Paegas mobile phones to 57 countries around the world and utilize the roaming services of 110 operators. As of the end of November, 1998, more than 340,000 customers were using the services of the Paegas GSM network.
