- Virtual Office provides maximum protection of data from unauthorized access
- Virtual Office brings companies a significant reduction in the total costs of application operation and maintenance
Prague, 23 May 2002 - RadioMobil, together with Compaq and OrBit, has developed a new product for its corporate customers - Virtual Office. Users of this service can work with constantly up-to-date corporate data wherever on the globe they are, without having to install, configure or copy anything on their notebooks, PDAs or handhelds.
"So far customers have had to make efforts in order to keep their data mobile and updated. Now they no longer have to think about which information they should take with them when travelling, as they have permanent access to all of their applications and up-to-date data thanks to Virtual Office," says Jiri Hajek, Corporate Communication Manager, adding: "Users of Virtual Office can for example solve their work tasks much more efficiently and conveniently with their colleagues or better meet the needs of their customers. With Virtual Office each request can be dealt with immediately and anywhere."
Virtual Office is an advanced technological solution which provides users with a universal access to corporate applications from anywhere and from any client equipment. The solution is based on the use of the Terminal Services technology Citrix Metaframe XP and GPRS transfers in the GSM network. The Terminal Services technology allows all applications to be installed, launched and administered in one place - the server. Users can work with the applications without having to install them on their mobile devices. Thanks to GPRS, a technology that allows high-speed data transfer in the GSM network, these applications can be accessed from anywhere. Even when out of the office, users thus have the same access to their working tools to which they are used to when working in the office, without having to copy or configure them on their notebooks, PDAs or handhelds.
Virtual Office meets the highest requirements for the protection of data from misuse, loss or theft. All the data are secured centrally in the company and no valuable or confidential information need to be physically transported in the memory of the mobile device. In addition, customers' communication with Virtual Office is secured against misuse by encryption.
"The use of Virtual Office brings companies significant cost reductions with respect to application operation and maintenance. Thanks to Virtual Office, the time needed for the launch of a new application within the entire organization can be shortened from weeks to days. Compared to the traditional offices equipped with PCs, all this results in measurable savings," says Jiri Dvorjancansky, RadioMobil Sales and Marketing Director.
