RadioMobil Statement on the Results of the UMTS Licence Auction

Paegas GSM network operator RadioMobil a.s. took part in last weeks auction for a UMTS licence for the Czech Republic.
Paegas GSM network operator RadioMobil a.s. - in keeping with the global strategy of its main shareholder, the T-Mobile International group - took part in last weeks auction for a UMTS licence for the Czech Republic. The Czech Telecommunications Office announced today that RadioMobil was the high bidder in the auction.

"Winning this auction allows us to offer our customers a whole range of new services in the future. The result gives us first choice of UMTS frequencies as well as additional frequencies in the GSM range. Thanks to this, we will be able to optimise both networks and gain significant market advantages in terms of superior network quality, capacity and services offered. In addition we will be able to profit from the vast know how and experience from our sister companies in T-Mobile which are already in the phase of implementing UMTS technology," said Jiri Hajek, RadioMobil corporate communications manager, adding: "we trust that if the CTO decides to grant a third licence in the future, the financial conditions will be such that all operators will be put on a level playing field."
