Prague, 3 November 2010 – Even during the pre-Christmas rush, T-Mobile is continuing to work intensively on its roll-out of the most advanced 3G network. Residents of the three cities of Tábor, Orlová and Frýdek Místek can now look forward to this new technology. Fast mobile internet access is also available in another six smaller towns. In total, one-third of the Czech population is covered.
Since the launch of the 3G network in January, the extension of its rollout has accelerated rapidly. Thanks to the most advanced data technology, 99% of residents in Tábor, 92% in Orlová and 97% in Frýdek‑Místek can use the 3G network services beginning 3 November. The 3G network is also available to residents in Říčany, Sezimovo Ústí, Roztoky, Jesenice, Šlapanice and Rousínov and coverage has also been enhanced in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Liberec and Ústí nad Labem.
T-Mobile continues its changeover to HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access) and will be the first operator in the Czech Republic to offer this technology. It enables faster data transmissions and increases network capacity, which will be prepared for services of the next LTE generation.
New as well as existing clients can still try the new mobile internet service free of charge. When ordering the Internet v Mobilu Standard or Internet v mobilu Klasik add-on, contract customers can browse the internet for one month free of charge. For users of prepaid Twist cards, the operator has prepared a free two-week trial of the Twist Surf+ service. The offer applies to the first activation of these bundles. Thanks to a special edition of the Twist Internet SIM card for CZK 299 with a data limit of 500MB, customers now also have the possibility to try internet access in their notebooks. The price of the SIM card includes one month of free internet access and customers can top-up their credit for only CZK 249 per month until the end of the year.
High-speed mobile internet access is now available to the residents of 30 Czech cities: Prague, Plzeň, Brno, České Budějovice, Olomouc, Pardubice, Hradec Králové, Zlín, Ostrava, Teplice, Prostějov, Havířov, Liberec, Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary, Karviná, Kladno, Opava, Most, Přerov, Třebíč, Orlová, Tábor, Frýdek Místek, Říčany, Sezimovo Ústí, Roztoky, Jesenice, Šlapanice and Rousínov. In total, 500 cities should be covered by the end of 2012.
