T-Mobile 3G: Teplice, Ostrava and extension in Brno

T-Mobile customers can now enjoy high-speed mobile internet access in ten cities of the Czech Republic.

Prague, 18 August 2010 - T-Mobile is continuing to work intensively on the rollout of its 3G network. Ostrava and Teplice were added to the list of covered cities last week. The 3G signal has also been significantly extended in Moravian capital, Brno. In total, T-Mobile customers can now enjoy high-speed mobile internet access in ten cities of the Czech Republic.

High-speed mobile internet access is now available to 98% of the residents of Teplice. In addition, the network has been significantly extended in the second largest city of the Czech Republic, Brno, where 96% of population have had access to 3G services since yesterday. Last week, the 3G network was also rolled out in the North Moravian Ostrava.

New as well as existing clients can still try the new service free of charge. When ordering the Internet v Mobilu Standard or Internet v mobilu Klasik add-on, contract customers can browse the internet for one month free of charge. For users of prepaid Twist cards, the operator has prepared a free two-week trial of the Twist Surf+ service. The offer applies to the first activation of these bundles.

The 3G services are now available to the residents of 10 cities: Prague, Plzeň, Brno, České Budějovice, Olomouc, Pardubice, Ostrava, Hradec Králové, Zlín and Teplice. Prostějov, Havířov, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec, Karlovy Vary and Kladno will enjoy the fast mobile internet access by the end of September. In total, thirty major towns in the Czech Republic should be covered by the end of this year.

T-Mobile uses the Nokia Siemens Networks technology based on the HSPA standard, which theoretically enables download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.
