T-Mobile: roaming cheaper again, same prices for everyone

• One zone-based roaming price list for pre-paid as well as post-paid customers
• Up to 30 percent off the per-minute rate for calls from abroad

Prague, 23 November 2006 - As of 1 December, the roaming services will be even simpler and cheaper for all T-Mobile customers. The operator has unified roaming charges for its tariff customers as well as for users of the pre-paid Twist service. At the same time, the prices for calling from abroad and for receiving calls when abroad have fallen significantly, as have the prices for MMS sent from abroad. The lower prices will also be reflected in special roaming offers. T-Mobile's flagship roaming service is still its Cestovatel (Traveler) program, thanks to which customers can call within T-Mobile networks for CZK 4 per minute when abroad (4.76 incl. VAT).

Same prices for all customers
From 1 December, the users of Twist pre-paid cards can also take advantage of the benefits of simple zone­based roaming for the same prices as those paid by contract customers. Therefore, all T-Mobile customers can call for the same prices when roaming. Only the data transmissions will be charged differently due to technical reasons.

"We have decided to simplify the billing of roaming charges. All our customers - whether they use any of the tariff programs or a pre-paid card - will be able to very easily find out the price of calls made from abroad to their loved ones or business partners," says Martina Kemrová, spokesperson for T-Mobile.

Calls cheaper by tens of percent, MMS by half
T-Mobile was the first operator in the Czech Republic to offer significantly cheaper calls from abroad; the Cestovatel (Traveler) add-on was launched in January this year. And the company is staying the course: per-minute charges from all four world zones will drop distinctly from 1 December. A one-minute call from Slovakia, for example, will cost 25% less than the current price, while a one-minute call from Europe will be 20% cheaper. Incoming calls will cost less as well.

The changes in prices of calls from abroad are accompanied by changes in their billing, too. From now on, contract customers will have their calls charged in the same way as pre-paid customers, i.e. the 60+60 method widely used in the roaming market. T-Mobile is thus bringing its billing of roaming calls in line with that of other Czech telecommunications operators.

Travelers will no longer need to be afraid of sending an MMS to their loved ones from abroad. This is thanks to the significant reduction in the price of MMS; for example, one MMS message from France will now cost CZK 14 excl. VAT (CZK 16.66 incl. VAT).

Twist roaming: no call set-up fee, lower prices
The unification of roaming rates brings a number of benefits for pre-paid customers. First, they will be able to call from abroad for the same prices that are offered to contract customers, i.e. much cheaper than until now. Also, they will not need to pay the initial call set-up fee of CZK 17 incl. VAT, but just the price of the call itself. Also, thanks to the price-list unification they will pay much less for SMS and MMS. Each MMS sent from Slovakia will now cost only CZK 11.90 incl. VAT, which is about the same price as in the Czech Republic.
