- New users can try mobile internet free of charge
Pardubice / Prague, 21 July 2010 - T-Mobile has completed the rollout of the 3G network in another Czech city. Beginning today, residents of Pardubice can enjoy high-speed mobile internet access. Following Prague, Plzeň, Brno, České Budějovice and Olomouc, Pardubice is the sixth city in the Czech Republic covered with one of the world's most advanced 3G network.
High-speed mobile internet is now available to two-thirds of the residents of the city known for its ginger bread, ice-hockey, the Velká Pardubická Steeplechase or Golden Helmet Motorcycle Speedway Race. New as well as existing clients can also try this new service free of charge. When ordering the Surf+ or Surf&Mail+ add-on, contract customers can browse the internet for one month free of charge. For users of prepaid Twist cards, the operator has prepared a free two-week trial of the Twist Surf+ service. The offer applies to the first activation of these bundles.
T-Mobile uses the Nokia Siemens Networks technology based on the HSPA standard, which theoretically enables download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.
This summer, 3G services will also be extended to other regional towns. Residents of Ústí nad Labem, Hradec Králové, Liberec, Ostrava and Karlovy Vary will enjoy fast mobile internet access by the end of September. In total, thirty major towns in the Czech Republic should be covered by the end of this year.
