- The company will support 16 projects in the Hradec Králové region
- Twenty-four activities will receive support in Louny and its surroundings
Prague, 22 November 2011 – This year marks the seventh time that T-Mobile is supporting projects in the regions where it operates and is distributing another CZK 2,000,000 through the T-Mobile Fund. This time the money is being awarded to 39 interesting and useful projects. Over the past seven years, T-Mobile has supported 363 projects worth more than CZK 20,600,000. A ceremony in which the representatives of non-profit organisations and municipalities receive symbolic cheques was held on 21 November in Louny; a similar event will take place in Hradec Králové on 28 November.
“A common feature of all the projects is the active involvement of local people in the project implementation itself, by which we try to encourage the public to be more engaged in local affairs,” says Petra Pavičová, T-Mobile’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.
Hradec Králové region
In this region, the VIA Foundation received 60 applications in total. According to the decision of the evaluation committee, the amount of CZK 1,000,000 was distributed among 15 various organisations in support of 16 projects; the average amount of individual contributions was CZK 62,500. The total amount applied for in this region was CZK 4,654,900.
The supported projects are aimed at refurbishment of public spaces, restoration of small monuments, strengthening of local traditions and social life as well as nature conservation. Thanks to the contribution made by T-Mobile, public spaces will serve all population groups – children and their parents, as well as grandparents, who will benefit from active recreation on special exercise machines for the elderly.
Louny
In the Louny district, the funds are administered by Ústecká komunitní nadace (the Community Foundation of Ústí nad Labem), which received applications from 56 projects in the total amount of CZK 3,821,986. Only two of these applications failed to meet the formal and technical requirements and were excluded from the selection procedure. In the end, the committee selected 23 projects, which will share CZK 1 million.
The inhabitants of Louny are also involved in taking care of their surroundings – improvement of public spaces, restoration of small monuments, revival of local traditions and development of intergenerational understanding. This is manifested for example in the project of establishing of a small folk museum in Koštice, construction of an open-air classroom at the Staňkovice school, social and sports activities for wheelchair users, projects of reconstruction of chapels and clean-up of a dump site in Chmelištná.
The projects selected this year are again focused on activities that strengthen responsibility for the places where we live and improve the lives of people in our communities. The projects are primarily initiated by local inhabitants in response to particular needs in the respective localities.
Implementation of all the winning projects may take a maximum of one year and is limited to the period from 1 December 2011 to 30 November 2012. The maximum contribution for one project is CZK 100,000.
