- Australia is the newest addition to the family of roaming partners
Prague, 22 January 2004 - T-Mobile keeps extending the number of roaming countries for the GPRS service. The T-Mobile customers may now access the Internet via GPRS also in Australia. T-Mobile is thus the only Czech operator to offer data transmissions via this technology on five continents.
Besides Australia, the newest addition to the family of the GPRS partners, T-Mobile GPRS roaming is available in dozens of countries world-wide, including exotic destinations such as China, Sri Lanka and Singapore. In all these countries, users may access the Internet via their mobile phone, browse the wap pages or send and receive MMS (for example, photos or videos with their own comments). Business travelers will appreciate the possibility to access the Intranet, work with their company applications, handle e-mails and administer the calendar, etc. The service simply allows customers to use the whole range of services also when traveling abroad.
The advantage of T-Mobile GPRS is the fact that customers do not pay for the time of connection, as it is the case with standard data transmissions, but for the volume of data transmitted. Users may thus be connected for an unlimited period of time when abroad, as they only pay for data actually transmitted.
