T-Mobile is the first operator in the Czech Republic to receive the Business Continuity certificate

T-Mobile passed a recertification audit and became the first operator in the Czech Republic (and the second company in the Czech Republic generally) to receive, among other things, the Business Continuity ISO 22301 certificate.

Prague, 27 April 2016 - In February this year, T-Mobile passed a recertification audit and became the first operator in the Czech Republic (and the second company in the Czech Republic generally) to receive, among other things, the Business Continuity ISO 22301 certificate. Additionally, the operator passed the integrated management system audit according to ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 20000-1 (IT service management) and ISO 27001 (information security).

“In today’s unstable times, readiness to respond to not only the risks associated with operation of the company or natural disasters but also to the threat of various types of attacks is absolutely key. Our and our customers’ data are very well protected as a matter of course. However, the areas of emergency preparedness and crisis management, as well as other quality management areas need to be checked by an independent certification authority,” says Jan Kudlák, Vice President Regional Services at T-Mobile.

The audit was performed by the renowned international certification authority DNV GL. “Our auditors verified the status on the implementation of the international ISO 22301 standard requirements. Having found that the company complies with the prescribed requirements, they recommended the issuance of the certificate. As the leader in the Czech Republic, T-Mobile became the first mobile operator and the second company in the Czech Republic overall to receive the business continuity certificate,” says Zdenka Šimková, director of Det Norske Veritas CZ.

The business continuity management system required considerable investments. The introduction of the business continuity standard helped set the strictest criteria for the area of the company’s crisis management: the operator is able to ensure the provision of services to its customers also in the case of unexpected events.
