Prague, 17 February 2011 – T-Mobile, in cooperation with its partners, brings a new solution for care of senior citizens: the TOPS system uses the advantages of modern technologies to secure higher comfort and lower costs both for care institutions and their clients. The project was initiated by Centrum sociální a ošetřovatelské pomoci (Centre for Social Care and Nursing, CSOP) in Prague 10 as a partner solution of T-Mobile and Teltech Servis. With its 40 social workers, the centre was the first to test the solution.
The TOPS system is designed for social care and nursing institutions, where clients may order personal care services, such as shopping, clothes laundering or cleaning. With the TOPS solution clients can now flexibly plan visits and order services – any changes may be immediately sent to PDAs of social workers via the T‑Mobile data network. At the same time, managers are provided with a continuous overview of task performance. The solution is delivered with all necessary hardware and programs.
Social workers of the CSOP in Prague 10, for example, undertake approximately 260 visits a day, during which they perform 520 tasks and deliver around 600 lunches. The key is to manage logistics and monitoring. “One of the features of the PDA is navigation, which is great advantage for every social worker. It gives them the assurance that they will not get lost on their way to a new client,” says Jana Vojtová, the CSOP director. The GPS system also provides all managers with an overview of the journeys the social workers undertake and their current position, which is a great advantage when addressing the ad-hoc needs of clients.
“The population is aging – nursing services will thus become a regular part of our lives and technology must keep up. Every senior citizen is equipped with his/her own QR code by means of which he/she confirms every visit of the social worker. We are glad that through our know-how we could contribute to creating such a useful application,” says Martina Kemrová, Senior Head of Corporate Communication at T-Mobile.
TOPS is a modern information system that also offers extensive supplementary functions. The partnership product provides the management of nursing centres with a better overview of the overall efficiency of social workers, their tasks and other services. Moreover, the TOPS system reduces administration, simplifies operational changes and checks cost effectiveness.
