When purchasing a new phone at one of the selected stores (see the list below), customers can now find out whether their current device is eligible for trade-in and what its value is. This value can then be applied immediately when buying a new device, together with other available benefits such as a trade-in bonus and a tariff subsidy in the form of a conditional discount linked to the tariff. In addition, T-Mobile will now add CZK 1,000 for each trade-in. The new device can also be purchased in instalments with 0% interest.
The trade-in value is determined through technical and visual diagnostics in the Cashtec application developed by Mobil Pohotovost. The application uses AI and was exclusively developed for T-Mobile.
Customers can hand over the traded-in device directly at the store or leave the store with both their new and original phone. They then have five working days to transfer data to the new phone, sign out of their accounts and reset the old device to factory settings. During this period, they must either return the traded-in phone to a T-Mobile store or send it free of charge via courier or the Zásilkovna service.
“With this new service, we want to make it easier for customers to get a new phone while also offering them more options for handling their older device. In addition to environmentally friendly recycling, which we have long provided together with our partner Remobil, we are now also adding a trade-in option. This gives phones a second life,” adds Petar Babić, Chief Commercial Officer for B2C at T-Mobile Czech Republic.
