T-Mobile has joined forces with the Elpida organization – together they will support the education of seniors and the improvement of their quality of life

T-Mobile becomes the main partner of the Senior Line of Elpida o.p.s. – a crisis service that is the first and often the only available help for thousands of people in a difficult life situation every year. Thanks to T-Mobile's technological support, the operation of the line is stable and free of charge for callers from all over the Czech Republic. At the same time, the partnership also includes wider support for the entire organization, and in addition to providing services, the operator will also support activities in the field of education and improving the quality of life of seniors.

The Seniors Helpline is a free, anonymous crisis telephone service available throughout the Czech Republic. It is turned to by people in acute crisis and long-term stress – most often with topics of interpersonal and family relationships, loneliness, life with mental illness, depression and loss of meaning in life. A significant part of the calls are also serious situations, such as domestic violence or suicidal thoughts. In 2025, the Senior Line received a total of 21,000 calls, of which 6,800 were related to family relationships, 2,788 to loneliness, 2,018 to depression and mood disorders, 1,752 to loss of the meaning of life, 556 to domestic violence and 413 to suicidal issues. The service thus represents an important element in the system of available crisis and preventive care in the Czech Republic.

Elpida has been active in the Czech Republic for more than 20 years and during that time it has established itself as a leading organization creating opportunities for active and fulfilled aging and accompanying seniors through challenging life situations. In addition to the crisis line, it operates two educational and cultural centers in Prague, offers an online program, publishes  the magazine Vital, founded the charity fashion brand Socks from Grandma, records  the Elpida podcast, organizes exhibitions, workshops and runs the Old School café.

"Our mission is to change old age – both for those who experience it themselves and for those around them. We help seniors to experience it actively and to the fullest. We are thus preparing better conditions for the future for ourselves. We perceive that T-Mobile is not indifferent to this demographic group – so we welcome the new partnership and are happy to offer the operator our expertise to make its services more accessible to all generations," comments Jiří Hrabě, managing director of Elpida.

T-Mobile has long focused on seniors as part of its ESG activities. In the Digital Senior courses  , participants learn to master and use modern technologies and gain independence in the digital world. In the past six months, the exhibition Senior in the Main Role also took place  at the Museum of the Police of the Czech Republic, where visitors could try out how fraud works on a simulator of fraudulent phone calls from T-Mobile so that they can detect it in time and not "fall for it". All age groups are provided with free consultations to improve their digital technology skills with T Advisor. A special page www.t-mobile.cz/senior helps them navigate the offer of courses and services.

"The ageing of the population and the increasing life expectancy is a fundamental social issue – we are aware of the obligation to create good conditions for those who are most affected by it as a telecommunications leader. By sharing our corporate and technological background in combination with Elpida's experience in working with seniors, we can create an environment not only for them in which they will continue to feel among their own," says Simona Dřízhalová, sustainability expert at T-Mobile.

"The Senior Helpline has been helping for 20 years – we knew that when we took it over, it must not remain deaf to those who need it most. However, thanks to our experienced team of technicians, we were able to switch operations almost immediately," adds Pavel Lutovský, T-Mobile's Regional B2B Sales Manager.
