T-Mobile in the Third Quarter: Further Network Investment, Customer Care Innovation and 30 Years on the Market

In the third quarter of 2026, T-Mobile built on the growth recorded in the first half of the year and continued to invest in its networks, with cumulative investment reaching CZK 2.4 billion since the start of the year. According to measurements by the Czech Telecommunication Office, its 5G network currently covers 99,4% of the population. Customers continued to make intensive use of the mobile network, with data traffic up 23.4% year on year. Despite growing demands on mobile network capacity and reliability, the operator again performed strongly in independent assessments, securing further top rankings from Opensignal. Profitability increased by 9.5% year on year in the third quarter, while revenue grew by 3.4%. The positive performance was driven primarily by continued customer interest in converged services and a stable customer base, despite a decline of more than 8% in prepaid customers. The operator also marked 30 years since the launch of the first mobile network in the Czech Republic with special customer offers and support for community projects.

“The results for the first three quarters confirm that we are delivering steady growth. But behind the numbers, I always see our customers and their expectations first and foremost: reliable services available wherever they need them. That is why our investment in networks and network infrastructure has already reached CZK 2.4 billion this year, and we plan to invest a further CZK 2 billion by year-end. Just as important, however, is investment in customer care and technology solutions that save people time and deliver tangible value. One example is the Spriklr AI solution deployed in our customer centre, which has significantly reduced the time needed to resolve certain requests. A tool that gives our colleagues more space to focus on the customer,” says Melinda Szabó, CEO of T-Mobile Czech Republic and Slovak Telekom.

A high-quality mobile network remains the foundation of reliable connectivity. In Opensignal’s September assessment, T-Mobile ranked first in 13 of the 15 monitored categories, including download speeds, consistent network quality and coverage. During the third quarter, the operator also completed all ten 5G sites developed with state support and continued its work to bring mobile coverage and high-speed internet to underserved areas.

One of the most significant enhancements to the customer offering was the expansion of the device trade-in service across the operator`s entire retail network. T-Mobile first piloted the service at twenty selected stores in June, with more than a thousand customers trading in their phones during the pilot alone. Since 1 September, the service has been available to customers throughout the operator’s retail network.

The summer offer marked T-Mobile’s 30th anniversary on the Czech market while responding to growing mobile data use at home and while travelling. During the summer, postpaid customers could activate a total of 30 GB of free data in the My T-Mobile app, symbolically reflecting the company’s thirty years on the Czech market. The celebrations also included gifts and additional offers in the Magenta Moments programme, which surpassed two million registered users. The operator also placed its employees at the heart of the anniversary, organising a special summer celebration for them. Nor did it forget its youngest visitors: educational activities and suburban day camps were held at the Magenta Experience Centres in Prague and Brno throughout the summer.

A new chapter in the long-running “mezi svými” communication platform and the “How are you?” campaign, launched by the operator in early September, brought a simple question that is often overlooked in the rush of everyday life back into focus. The campaign builds on the finding that 74% of people in the Czech Republic have not reached out to someone close to them for some time, even though they would like to know how that person is really doing. It is a reminder that connectivity is not just about carrying ever-growing volumes of data, but above all about enabling the conversations that matter and strengthening real human connections.

The anniversary was also reflected in support for places where people naturally come together and for local communities. In August, in partnership with the Via Foundation, the company launched a special grant call, “30 Places Where People Connect”, which will distribute nearly CZK 1.5 million among thirty community projects in smaller towns and municipalities. In July, together with Nevypusť duši, it also announced more than CZK 1.5 million in funding for ten projects bringing schools, families and communities together in preventive mental health care for children.
