T-Mobile receives ISO 14001:2005 environmental management certificate

T-Mobile has successfully completed the EMS certification process.

Prague, 22 December 2010 – T-Mobile has successfully completed the EMS certification process which verifies conformity of the companys’ business activities with the environmental standards. The EMS certificate awarded by Bureau Veritas Czech Republic, an international certification authority, confirms that T-Mobile complies with all environmental management requirements in accordance with the ČSN EN ISO 14001:2005 international standard.

“Receiving the EMS certificate is yet another significant milestone for our company which proves particularly to our customers that we are a modern 21st century company with an forward-looking management that cares about the environmental impact of its business activities,” says Radek Havliš, Vice President Business Security & Facility Management at T-Mobile.

Activities, products or services provided by any organization may have an environmental impact. Because of this, companies should make an effort to minimize their impact and seek suitable methods that would progressively lead to such minimization. The strict EMS certification process has verified that T-Mobile’s activities comply with these environmental protection requirements. T-Mobile has thus been awarded a certificate for the “Sale of fixed and mobile telecommunications services and customer care provision”.

The entire EMS implementation process lasted more than one year and the certification audit consisted of two stages: in October, auditors examined internal EMS documentation and internal audits. In November, the auditors focused primarily on the conformity of the implemented measures with the company’s internal documentation at selected facilities across the entire Czech Republic.
