For the fifth time, T-Mobile and its employees supported individuals and families that are facing a difficult life situation by means of the Supporting Stories (Pomáhejme příběhům) fundraising campaign. Employees themselves nominate their loved ones or friends, who are in need most often due to illness or an unfortunate event, for inclusion in the project. This year’s edition will support 30 stories with the total amount of CZK 1,335,394.

“In the five years of its existence, the fundraising campaign has become an integral part of our social responsibility activities. In the pre-Christmas period, it creates a wave of solidarity at the company and we are happy that our employees are not indifferent to what is happening around them. It is great to see the ever growing number of people who are getting involved in philanthropic projects, not only in financial terms but also by means of volunteer work,” says Martina Kemrová, Senior Corporate Communication Manager at T-Mobile.

The company’s employees have a possibility to publish a story of a person whom they want to help in a special fundraising application. It can be a family member, friend, acquaintance or neighbour. Together with the registration, they donate the first CZK 1,000 and ask colleagues for additional contributions. T-Mobile then matches the amount donated by its employees.

The funds raised through the Supporting Stories campaign are most often intended for seriously ill children. However, this year the donations will also help several adults who are returning to normal life after a serious injury and a mother of three small boys who have tragically lost their father. The contributions will be used to pay for rehabilitation treatments, home modifications, specialist assistance and medical aids. More than 500 employees got involved in the campaign and raised half of the target amount among themselves. The amount thus contributed was then matched by T-Mobile.
