Statement about the tender for telecommunication licenses to build up and operate public telecommunication networks in the UMTS system

Prague, October 19, 2001 â?" The RadioMobil Company still considers the present licensing conditions as completely unreal in the environment of the Czech market. We are convinced that it is important for further development of Czech mobile telecommunication market, first of all, to invest in the construction and development of third generation networks, in the development of new products and services. Only then both our clients and the whole Czech Republic will be able to profit from the advantages of the UMTS technology.

The current price for license, together with the investment costs, would lead to such a financial burden of the clients that UMTS-based services would become financially inaccessible for them. At the same time, the term of startup of the whole UMTS network would be delayed which would also cause the delay of positive effects (tax incomes, new job opportunities etc.).
