Christmas offer from T-Mobile scored highly

  • Double the number of customers using the S námi tariff plans
  • Sales of smart phones rose by 105%
  • The Internet na cesty data plans recorded a 102% increase
  • Top-up rewards used by more than 600,000 Twist customers

Prague, 10 January 2013 – T-Mobile’s Christmas offer was successful – the number of customers using the S námi tariff plans doubled, top-up rewards were used by hundreds of thousands of prepaid card users and an increase was also recorded in sales of smart phones and data bundles. The commercial spots featuring Zadar and company have been breaking records in the number of views. The operator wants to please its customers even after Christmas and will thus continue offering the best prices on selected smart phones and favourable rates for Twist users using the Volání skoro zadara (Almost Free Calls) benefit and extend the discount of 25% on Internet na cesty plans until the end of January 2013. 

“We are very happy that the Christmas campaign scored highly with customers as we are trying to offer them the best,” says Dana Tomášková, Vice President Resident Marketing, adding: “I believe that our clients will appreciate not only the commercials, but will also be happy to make use of the extension of the offer.“ 

The Christmas commercials on YouTube have achieved a record-breaking number of views, 10.5 million. The greatest success was reached by “Pojď mi hop” (Come on and jump) with 1.8 million views. It is closely followed by “Zadarovy lyže” (Zadar’s ski) and “Kurýr” (Courier), which were seen by 1.7 million people each. Nor did the Christmas microsite remain unnoticed; it was visited by 825,000 customers, which is an increase of 38% compared to last year. 

The Christmas offer managed to match customers’ needs, which is also reflected by the figures. The number of clients using the S námi tariff plans doubled to 200,000 thanks to the Volejte zadara (Make Free Calls) offer. Free calls within the largest network are currently made particularly by existing customers, who were able to receive the benefit for three months. The clients who extended their existing contracts using the selected tariff plans or who newly activated those plans are using this offer for 12 months. 

However, the offer also won the interest of prepaid card users – thanks to calls for CZK 2.5/min. to all networks, the number of customers in the Našim za dobití (For Our Customers for Topping Up) program has nearly doubled since November. At this time, the top-up reward is enjoyed by more than 600,000 customers. The operator wants to please its clients and will further maintain the attractive rate within the program. 

A substantial increase in the number of users was also recorded by the Internet na cesty tariff plans, the price of which was reduced by 25% within the Christmas offer. November and December sales increased by 102% compared to previous months. Due to the high level of interest, this internet service will remain discounted until the end of January 2013. 

Traditionally, Christmas has also favoured the sales of mobile phones and this year was no exception – in the advent period, the operator recorded an increase of 105% in the sales of smart phones compared to previous periods. The most in-demand handsets were those appearing in the advertising campaign, which saw a six-fold increase in sales, with the Samsung Galaxy SII Mini being in greatest demand this Christmas. Therefore, the operator has decided to continue offering this popular device for a discounted price until the end of January and has also extended the offer to include other attractive smart phones such as Samsung Galaxy S III.
