HSPA+42 from T-Mobile not only in Trutnov and Vrchlabí

  • Fast mobile internet has been launched in four cities in January
  • Download speeds of up to 42 Mbps for all tariff plans
  • Fast data also available at the Biathlon World Championship

Prague, 31 January 2013 – Datan Fofrič, a faithful friend of the coach Zadar, has set off for the Giant Mountains, searching for new ski talents as well as extending the HSPA+ 42 mobile network, which enables all T-Mobile customers to download data from the internet at speeds of up to 42 Mbps.

“Datan Fofrič has been scoring highly with customers and the number of internet users keeps growing. We want to offer clients only the best, and a higher transmission speed is definitely part of the best. Users of our internet services can thus fly not only on their skis,” says Michal Podlucký, Senior Head of Category & Product Management at T-Mobile.

Fast HSPA+ 42 data transfers were launched in Beroun and Poděbrady in the course of December and in Nymburk and Jihlava in early January. And now the Giant Mountain towns of Trutnov and Vrchlabí have been added.

Customers will also be able to use fast data when visiting the Biathlon World Championship hosted by Nové Město na Moravě from 7 to 17 February. T-Mobile will deploy its mobile cell site with HSPA+ 42 technology there. Competitors and visitors as well as Zadar’s ski team can thus be sure that, thanks to the network boost, they will have no problem getting their calls through, and fans of fast internet access will also enjoy themselves while watching the sporting event.

Customers can currently use the HSPA+ 42 technology, enabling them to zoom at a maximum transmission speed of up to 42 Mbps for downloading, not only in selected parts of Prague and in Brno. In addition to the previously mentioned covered cities, the HSPA+ 42 signal can be enjoyed by users in Liberec, České Budějovice, Mladá Boleslav, Zlín and Otrokovice.

Residents of other cities needn’t despair that they have not been visited by Datan Fofrič yet, as more than 85% of the population is covered by the 3G network operated by T-Mobile, which according to independent tests (measurements by the DSL.cz server) has been the fastest in the Czech Republic over the long term, as it enables downloads at speeds of up to 21 Mbps.

Fast HSPA+ 42 data transfers can be used automatically by all customers having new data plans and owning a mobile phone or a modem supporting this technology.
