MORE T-MOBILE CUSTOMERS TO TEST ELECTRONIC INVOICES

Electronic statements are free of charge and environmentally friendly
More than 650,000 T-Mobile statements are already issued electronically per month
The operator will transfer another 100,000 customers to electronic invoices within the pilot operation
Savings amount to 432 cubic metres of water, 12 tons of paper, 30 full-grown trees per year

Prague, 5 September 2013 – As an environmentally responsible company, T-Mobile has prepared a pilot transfer of part of its customer base to electronic statements in September. These statements are not only more environmentally friendly but also free of charge and available to customers faster than standard printed statements.

Today, more than 650,000 invoices are already issued electronically per month and, when concluding a new contract for any of the new S námi (“With Us”) tariff plans via the eShop, nearly 70% of customers choose this form of statements of services. The operator has therefore decided to offer this convenient and environmentally friendly method to other customers. A total of 100,000 invoices issued to customers who use e-mail, visit My T-Mobile or use the new tariff plans will be transferred to electronic statements within the pilot transfer. With the new tariff plans, printed statements are subject to a fee; their users can therefore save CZK 19.15 per month. The trial operation will then be evaluated and the company will decide what steps it will take next with respect to broader use of the electronic form of statements.

“In everything it does, T-Mobile places strong emphasis on environmental protection; therefore it strives to motivate also its customers toward eco-friendliness and green thinking,” says Petra Pavičová, Social Responsibility Manager, adding: “We also explain the practical advantages of this form of statements to customers – electronic invoices are free of charge, simple and fast. We believe that users will appreciate this positive change.”

Electronic statements can naturally be used also by other post-paid customers not included in the pilot transfer. Setting up and using electronic invoices is very simple and brings attractive and practical benefits. If a customer is not sure about his or her decision, they can first test electronic invoices for three months. More information is available at www.t-mobile.cz/evs

COMMUNICATION
All customers included in the September pilot transfer will be given sufficient advance notice. The transfer will be communicated not only via information banners on printed invoices, but also by e-mail, SMS and on a dedicated page at www.t-mobile.cz/vyuctovanielektronicky. Beginning in October, customers will only receive electronic statements.

Customers will still have the possibility to switch back to the printed form of invoices if they do not find the electronic form of statements convenient for them. All they need to do is send a text message with SMS VYUCTOVANI A T to 4603 or set up printed electronic statements via My T-Mobile. However, with certain tariff plans, printed invoices are charged at CZK 19.15 incl. VAT in accordance with the respective terms and conditions.

WE HELP SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT, YOU CAN HELP US TOO
T-Mobile is a socially responsible company and as such it tries to motivate customers to be socially responsible too. One printed statement has on average two sheets of paper: transferring the aforementioned number of customers to electronic statements will thus help save 30 fully-grown spruce trees and 12 tons of paper waste per year. The savings of electricity are not insignificant either – to give you an idea, 3.4 GWh of electricity to produce paper (this does not include power consumption during printing) amounts to the electricity consumed by an 80W bulb burning continuously for five years. Annual savings of 432 cubic metres of water are certainly also worth mentioning. One should also take into account the emissions discharged into the air during paper manufacturing and transportation of statements of services and, last but not least, time saving.

If, over time, all of the operator’s customers switch to electronic statements of services, these figures will be even more impressive and more significant for environmental protection.

QR CODE
Additionally, customers can pay their invoices using a QR code (the operator informed the public of this method in February this year). Naturally, QR codes are provided also on electronic invoices. It is a simple, fast and flawless method of paying invoices via a mobile banking application made available to customers by their respective banks.
