The 2018 Winter Olympics mobile application puts the Olympic Games at your fingertips

The 2018 Winter Olympics application can be downloaded free of charge on Android and iOS devices
The app was developed by T-Mobile, which is an official partner of the Czech Olympic Team
The previous Olympic applications were downloaded by more than 300,000 users

Although the upcoming Winter Olympic Games will be held in faraway South Korea, fans eager to know what is happening with the Czech team will have the latest news literally at their fingertips. The mobile application prepared by T-Mobile, this time titled ZOH 2018 (2018 Winter Olympics), will again offer not only detailed news coverage, exclusive behind-the-scenes information, detailed information on all members of the Czech national team, online coverage and results, but also a competition to win mobile phones.

Although the Olympic Games in PyeongChang will begin on 9 February, Czech fans can already start preparing for them with the same intensity as Czech national team members thanks to a new mobile application. The application features videos, the latest news from the venue and a detailed programme of the Olympic Games, which enables setting up notifications for individual events – fans with smart phones will thus not miss anything important. The application will not only bring users to PyeongChang, but will also provide them with information from the Olympic Festivals to be held in Brno and Ostrava.

"The 2018 Winter Olympics application is the third such app that we have prepared for the Czech Olympic Team and I'm happy that it again offers something more. So far, more than 300,000 smartphone users have joined us in following the Olympic Games and I am confident that the application will again rank among the most downloaded ones," says Jan Stanko, Vice President Marketing Communication at T-Mobile.

Tomáš Houska, head of digital communication of the Czech Olympic Committee, would like to put the Olympic Games in people's pockets. "The content of the application is created directly by members of the Olympic Team. We offer fun, emotions, results, a programme, profiles of athletes with links to social networks and detailed behind-the-scenes information. Due to the time difference, the Olympic Games on the other side of the world pose a challenge also for fans. The daily Olympic programme begins at 2 a.m. CET and ends after lunch. Everybody who gets up in the morning and opens the app will know immediately what happened during the night and for whom and when they can root the rest of the day," explains Houska.

Along with the start of the Games, a big knowledge quiz for T-Mobile customers to win Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) phones will begin: every day throughout the Olympic Games, five participants who are the fastest to send the correct answer will win.

T-Mobile regularly prepares mobile applications as part of its sponsoring activities. Since last September, users can download the Czech Floorball application free of charge, while the free Czech National Team application is intended for football fans.
