Cheaper holiday abroad with T-Mobile

  • T-Mobile sharply reduces costs of data roaming in 29 countries
  • Roaming data transfer, including WAP, for the same prices as in the Czech Republic
  • Cheap MMS with Cestovatel make paper postcards obsolete
  • Roaming calls not interrupted when crossing the border

Prague, 26 May 2008 - The summer holiday season is fast approaching and TMobile has decided to offer its customers a cornucopia of new roaming-related features. As of 1 July 2008, users of data services will feel even more at home in other European countries than before because TMobile will significantly cut prices of roaming data transfers in the 26 other countries of the European Union plus in three countries belonging to the European Economic Area (Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway), and will unify these prices with the price for data roaming in the Czech market. In addition, users of the Cestovatel (Traveler) add-on will be able to send MMS from the eleven countries covered by Cestovatel for the same price as if they were in the Czech Republic.

From 1 July on, T-Mobile customers will be able to save a considerable amount of money when surfing the internet while abroad. Internet access via APN Internet, company APNs or via Blackberry will be 79% cheaper, which is a price reduction from CZK 0.24/kB to CZK 0.05/kB excl. VAT (or, from CZK 0.29/Kb to CZK 0.06/kB incl. VAT). The price of WAP access will also drop to the same amount as in the Czech Republic, i.e. to CZK 0.50/kB excl. VAT (CZK 0.59/kB incl. VAT). The specified prices are valid for the main roaming offers by TMobile: Happy Roaming, the EU roaming add-on and Cestovatel.

Along with the changes in prices for data roaming, the price for non-roaming internet access will also be cut from CZK 0.06/kB to CZK 0.05/kB (excl. VAT). Twist customers will be charged CZK 0.06/kB for internet access and CZK 0.6/kB for WAP access (incl. VAT).

T-Mobile also provides a useful software feature that will help monitor billing for data roaming. Thanks to a new version of the web'n'walk manager software, customers who have the most commonly used data cards can automatically view the volume of data transferred while roaming or set up a notification reminding them as soon as the transferred data reach a certain limit.

The web'n'walk manager application is supported by the following data cards: IP Wireless / 4G Combi Card, Huawei E220, Option ExpressCard, Option Globetrotter EDGE, Option EDGE Combo, Sony Ericsson GC85, and Siemens ES75. The latest version of the application can be downloaded from www.tmobile.cz/wnwmanager.

The Cestovatel add-on packed with summer offers
All users of the Cestovatel add-on will enjoy a summer full of favorable offers. Football fans will be first to enjoy the offered benefits: From 1 to 30 June, they will be able to use the Cestovatel add-on for the standard prices even in Switzerland, where the Czech national football team will play matches within its basic group.

Afterwards, another favorable offer will arrive together with the summer holidays: cheap MMS from abroad at prices equal to those in the Czech Republic, as long as the user activates the Cestovatel add-on. Tariff customers will be able to send MMS for CZK 8.20 excl. VAT (CZK 9.80 incl. VAT) when abroad from 1 June to 30 September.

The Cestovatel add-on features low prices for all services including calling, text messages and data transfers in eleven countries where T-Mobile provides its services, i.e. in Montenegro, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Great Britain and the United States. For example, a one-minute call costs CZK 4 excl. VAT (CZK 4.76 incl. VAT), plus a call set-up fee of CZK 29 excl. VAT (CZK 34.51 incl. VAT). When receiving incoming calls, customers are only charged for the call set-up fee.

Uninterrupted roaming calls when crossing the border
All T-Mobile customers traveling to and from Austria can also benefit from a technical solution enabling continuous calling when crossing the border. Up to now, calls were automatically terminated when persons crossed the border and entered another country. Beginning 30 May 2008, this will no longer happen to TMobile customers at the border with Austria.

Those who travel to Austria from 30 May onwards and start a call in the Czech Republic will be able to continue calling without any interruption even when they cross the border. Moreover, their whole call will be billed according to the standard price list, not at the roaming price.

This works for T-Mobile customers traveling the opposite way, too. Users will only need to keep in mind that once they start their call in Austria, it will continue to be billed as a roaming call even after they cross the border and they are back in the Czech Republic.

T-Mobile customers can use this offer at all nine road border crossings between the Czech Republic and Austria: České Velenice / Gmünd, Dolní Dvořiště / Wullowitz, Halámky / Neunagelberg, Nová Bystřice / Grametten, Přední Výtoň / Guglwald, Hatě / Kleinhaugsdorf, Hevlín / Laa an der Thaya, Mikulov / Drasenhofen and Poštorná / Reintal.
