Electronic Beats Festival Series Kicks-Off in Prague

  • First Electronic Beats Festival of 2010 assembles a line-up of established artists to present a mixture of crowd-pleasing styles
  • Highlights from the Festival and interviews with the artists to be featured on EB TV following the event

Bonn, Germany, March 15th, 2010:  Today, T-Mobile announces Hot Chip, Booka Shade and Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band, and Turboweekend will join the line-up for the Electronic Beats Festival in Prague at the National Gallery on May 7th, which will kick-off the 2010 Festival series for Electronic Beats.

Grammy nominated Hot Chip will bring their unique electro and synth-pop sounds to the mixture of exciting artists lined up.  Fresh from the release of their latest album ?One Life Stand', the British group will no doubt have the crowds on their feet as they perform new material from the album as well as past favourites such as singles ?Boy From School' and ?Over and Over'.  Their previous three albums reached mainstream appeal while they have remained sincere to their indie electro roots.

Booka Shade will be returning to the Electronic Beats stage after memorable sold-out audiences at previous Festivals in 2008.  The Berlin-based duo known for their electrifying live shows will perform in Prague just days after their fourth studio album More! is released throughout Europe.

Also joining the line-up will be Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band.  Starting out as DJ Erlend Sellevold, the Norwegian soon changed his identity to Ralph Myerz after the filmmaker Russ Meyer while adding his collaborators The Jack Herren Band.  Their fusion of funk, disco, electro and house blends dramatic sounds with solid dance floor music.

Rounding out the mix of great artists set to perform is Danish band Turboweekend.  After releasing two albums in the past three years, the band is known for their dynamic live shows throughout Europe.  Their disco-rock beats are fused with an electrical soul for a unique, unclassifiable sound.

This will be the fourth Electronic Beats Festival in Prague, which brings together a full night of on-stage performances and DJ sets for a memorable night of live music in a party atmosphere.  Following Prague, the Electronic Beats Festival series includes events in Graz, Austria on May 12th and Cologne, Germany on May 20th.  Tickets for the Electronic Beats Festival in Prague are on sale now and include an option of purchasing via mobile.
