Football World Cup in your mobile

  • More than 100,000 Czech national team jerseys and 100 tickets for fans
  • T-Mobile customers can watch video highlights in their mobiles for free

Prague, 27 April 2006 - T-Mobile, the official mobile operator of the 2006 FIFA World Cup and a partner of the Czech national team, will offer exclusive services related to the World Cup in Germany. T-Mobile customers will be able to watch video highlights of all matches in their mobile phones for free. At the same time, they can order exclusive bundles offering football news coverage, football MMS cards, ringtones, Caller Tunes and games.

"The football World Cup is a festive event and therefore we want our customers to be able to enjoy all important moments with our national team at any time, wherever they happen to be. In addition to the free exclusive football news coverage and video highlights, 100,000 replicas of Czech national-team jerseys are available for customers," says Jiří Hájek, Vice President Corporate Communication at T-Mobile Czech Republic, and adds: "We have also prepared a competition for 100 tickets to World Cup matches. Six winners will be selected in the competition finals, each of whom will receive a so-called Insider Card. This card will give them behind-the-scenes access at the stadium and allow them to watch the Czech national team's group matches from places which are not accessible to regular visitors."

T-Mobile will offer its customers a number of exclusive services. At the t-zones portal, there will be a special section related to the World Cup where customers will be able to watch, free of charge, a four-minute highlight reel of the most important moments on the playing field. For a price of CZK 49 and CZK 99, customers can choose from three bundles offering comprehensive news coverage related to the football championship, including interviews and behind-the-scenes information, which will be delivered to them via SMS, MMS or in the form of Video MMS. And only T-Mobile customers will be able to play the official Java game of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, download exclusive MMS cards with football themes or activate the special Caller Tune "Let's Go, Czechs!".
