  • GPRS can now be also used in Singapore, Israel, Norway and Lithuania

  • T-Mobile Private SMS Gate - the ideal SMS solution for businesses

Prague, 28 February 2003 - From the beginning of next week, T-Mobile will be offering a new service called Audio Info, offering users audio news from the political, business and cultural life in the Czech Republic and abroad. T-Mobile GPRS can now be used in 28 mobile networks in 23 countries of the world. Just CZK 200 (compared to the previous CZK 400) will be the minimum top-up amount extending the Twist credit validity starting on 3 March. A new service called T-Mobile Private SMS Gate, designed particularly for corporate clients, will allow companies to operate their own SMS gate on the corporate intranet or internet.

Audio Info
The new Audio Info service extends the popular T-Mobile Info service providing information via SMS. Customers who have subscribed to a T-Mobile Info infochannel (e.g. +NEWS, +SPORT, +BUSI) will receive a message containing, in addition to the information, a telephone number. Users who call this number will be able to listen to a genuine recording relating to the respective information obtained via SMS, for example, to a statement of a politician concerning the issue.

On calling the telephone number, the system will provide the user with the audio recording and then it will hang up. The validity of the information, i.e. the time for which the information relating to the respective SMS is available on the given number, is 24 hours from its publication (sending of the text message). The price for calling the number contained in the SMS is CZK 5.00/min (CZK 5.25 incl. VAT), which is applicable to both the contract and Twist customers.

New GPRS roaming partners
T-Mobile further extends the number of countries in which users can take advantage of GPRS roaming. Israel, Lithuania, Norway and Singapore have recently become new GPRS roaming partners abroad. The GPRS service is now available to T-Mobile customers in 23 countries of the world (in 28 mobile networks), offering customers a number of services based on GPRS data transmission to which they are used from the national network. For example, the offer includes Multimedia Messaging (photographs and video sequences) and the GPRSpeed service. While this offer lasts, customers will not be charged the daily fee for using the service and they will thus pay only for the transmitted data even when abroad.

Lower amount is now needed to extend Twist credit validity
So far, the amount of at least CZK 400 has been necessary to extend the validity of Twist credit. Starting on 3 March, the minimum amount extending the validity of Twist credit is CZK 200. This applies to all Twist direct top-up methods.

The Twist card is now offering a large number of direct top-up options for which no top-up coupon or top-up number is needed. To quickly and easily top-up their credit, Twist customers can take advantage of a wide network of ATMs, CCS and Sazka terminals, they can use GSM Banking or top up their cards simply via SMS. For more details on all top-up methods and a list of direct top-up points, visit www.t-mobile.cz, Tariffs and Pricing/Twist Prepaid.

      T-Mobile Private SMS Gate
Private SMS Gate is software which works as a web server and allows companies to operate their own SMS gate on the corporate intranet or internet. To send and receive messages, the gate uses a fixed connection to the SMS centre (via the T-Mobile SMS Connect or T-Mobile SMSC Direct services), or a mobile device with a T-Mobile SIM card connected to a PC (mobile phones, GSM modules). Private SMS Gate can be adjusted to match the corporate style and to conform to other requirements relating to the visual aspect and method of communication with users. Furthermore, Private SMS Gate can be interconnected with other corporate applications and SMS can be sent directly from such applications.

The new service will be available to customers from 3 March. More information on T-Mobile Private SMS Gate will follow in the form of a special press release concerning SMS services for corporate clients.
