  • Change of operator name to T-Mobile CZ has been performed on one million mobile phone displays

Prague, 18 July 2002 â?" RadioMobil introduces another method for direct Twist top-up. Starting yesterday, Twist card credits can be topped up at Sazka terminals more conveniently using top-up cards. For easy and correct use of the GPRS service, there is the new T-Mobile GPRS Software which will automatically set up the GPRS connection via a mobile phone.

â?žIt is our effort to offer services that will provide our customers with increased user comfort. The services we are introducing today will allow our customers to use their mobile phones more easily and conveniently,â?ť says Jiri Hajek, press spokesman for RadioMobil.

Twist top-up at Sazka terminals using top-up cards
With top-up cards for Sazka top-up, all prepaid card users can top up their credits even more easily than using top-up forms. The top-up card contains a bar code which represents the customerâ??s Twist card number. Customers do not have to fill anything in for the actual top-up, they will just provide the terminal attendant with the top-up card and state the desired amount to be topped up (it is possible to top up oneâ??s credit with amounts from CZK 200 to 9,999, however, top-up with less than CZK 400 does not extend the validity of the credit). When topping up their cards at Sazka terminals, customers will pay the respective amount in cash. The Sazka terminal will confirm the transaction by printing a receipt and the customer will receive a confirmation SMS.

New customers will obtain a top-up card at T-Mobile Retail Shops and other salespoints together with the Twist set (containing a mobile phone including accessories and a Twist card) or Twist CD (containing information materials and a Twist card) in the redesigned package. Existing customers will receive top-up cards at T-Mobile Retail Shops free of charge.

Mobile Navigator will look up the nearest Sazka terminal
Twist card top-up at Sazka terminals can be performed at Sazka salespoints marked with the label â?śTwist dobijete zdeâ?ś (â?śTop up your Twist hereâ?ś). Customers can look up the nearest terminal using the T-Mobile Navigator service by selecting the Universal item and entering the keyword SAZKA and the desired number of addresses. It is not necessary to enter the current location as it will be established by Navigator automatically. Shortly after sending the request, the customer will receive the requested number of answers as an SMS. The request price is identical to the price of an outgoing SMS based on the customerâ??s tariff, an incoming SMS (one answer) costs CZK 2 (CZK 2.10 incl. VAT).

T-Mobile GPRS Software
Thanks to the T-Mobile GPRS Software, customers no longer need to set up the GPRS connection manually according to the instructions which are different for individual GPRS-enabled phones. The application, designed for computers with Microsoft Windows operating systems, enables:

  • automatic installation of the driver of the telephone used;
  • automatic set-up of telephone network connection for the selected telephone and the telephone-computer connection method;
  • easy launch of the GPRS connection based on the selected access point (the standard access points are APN Internet and APN Profil);
  • monitoring of the transmission speed and total volume of transmitted data during the GPRS connection
  • for customers using a special APN (for example for access to the corporate intranet), set-up of the telephone network connection for this special access point;
  • upgrade supporting new phones.

The application is compatible with all GPRS-enabled phones. T-Mobile GPRS Software including a user manual can be downloaded free of charge at www.t-mobile.cz in the GPRS section.

The T-Mobile GPRS Software is supported by Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Millenium, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The following phones are GPRS-enabled: Ericsson T39m, Ericsson T65s, Motorola T192, Motorola Timeport 260, Nokia 6310, Nokia 6510, Nokia 8310, Siemens ME45, Siemens S45, and Siemens MT50.

Change of operator name on mobile phone displays
In connection with the change from the local brand Paegas to the new brand T-Mobile, the process of the change of operator name on mobile phone displays began on 11 July. The operator name was changed on as many as one million SIM cards in a single week. The network name will be changed on mobile phone displays gradually in July (or early August). Customers will receive an â?śinvisibleâ?ť SMS, which will change the network name on the SIM card and after switching the phone off and on the name will be changed on the display.
