Number of RadioMobil Customers Has Exceeded 2,000,000

  • A week of free Paegas Info services for all customers to celebrate two million
  • Last year, the number of mobile phones in the Czech Republic exceeded the number of fixed telephones
  • There is still some room for further increase in the number of digital mobile phone owners
During less than five years of its existence, RadioMobil has gained 2,000,000 customers. â?śWhat took our competitors ten years, we have managed in less than five years under completely different conditions,â?ť said the Managing Director of the company Roland Mahler. As a way of saying thanks RadioMobil decided to offer all of its clients the opportunity to use the Paegas Info services free of charge for a whole week.

With the Paegas Twist brand, RadioMobil occupies an exclusive position in the market of prepaid cards, and in the last year the company laid the foundations for success also in the field of corporate customers. They are those for whom effectiveness, but also the quality of services and wide offer are important. RadioMobil offers them all this and thereby takes advantage of its success as well as work and means so far invested in building up the company and the network. Only last year the investments in the GSM Paegas network exceeded nine billion crowns. At the end of 2000, 2,500 transmitters secured the Paegas signal in the territory of the CR, which is approximately 750 more than at the end of the preceding year. â?śWe constantly increase the capacity of our network, for which we use especially cells in the 1800 MHz frequency band, in order to grow further at a fast pace. There is still room for further growth, for instance in Scandinavia the penetration exceeded 80 per cent and continues to grow,â?ť remarked Roland Mahler. Also the fact that European operators gradually abandon outdated analogue NMT networks brings opportunities for a further inflow of clients in the GSM Paegas network. Only last year these networks were disconnected by Sonera in Finland, T-Mobil in Germany, Swisscom in Switzerland, or BT Cellnet in the UK. A number of their other operators face a rapid loss of clients who are not even attracted by low prices any more. â?śToday, the customers require services that outdated technologies cannot offer them. I can randomly name the SIM Toolkit, GSM Banking, WAP, data transfer and many others,â?ť completed Roland Mahler.

â?śWe have been long considering how to express thanks to all of our customers and we think we have chosen the right thing to do. It was the Paegas Info information channels that brought us an award at the annual conference of GSM operators in Cannes, France in February 1999. And therefore today, nearly exactly two years since that triumphal moment, everyone can try out exactly these services that have been considerably expanded since then and that have certainly a significant share in the interest in Paegas services,â?ť said Roland Mahler. All clients may take the opportunity to try out the Paegas Info services for free from Monday, 5 March to midnight on Sunday, 11 March 2001. During this period, the users pay only for the SMS message sent to order the information and do not pay any fee for the information received within the Paegas Info service. If they order information via the Click website, they will save on sending an ordering text message.

Paegas Info offers a wide range of information channels focused on various topics. It owes a great deal of its popularity to the usage of Paegas SIM Toolkit that is included in all SIM cards with the Paegas logo. Obtaining an information by means of the SIM Toolkit application is as easy as reading a standard SMS message. Today, the Paegas Info service offers a variety of 60 infochannels (cinema programs, flight, bus and train timetables - including city transportation, news overview, commercial register, currency exchange rates, jokes, and many others). Part of it are also the Paegas Info Plus channels which enable the customer receiving information whenever something happens (ÄŚTK news, traffic situationâ??).
