  • Among the members of the jury will be Joska Skalník and Oldřich Kulhánek
  • Selected works will be publicly exhibited
  • Graphic works will liven up T-Mobile premises

Prague, 8 March 2005 - T-Mobile wants to support talented graphic artists. Therefore, this year the company is announcing the first ever T-Mobile award for young graphic artists. The competition is called Perspectives and is supposed to be an annual show of young artist's works. The winning works will be exhibited in the Chodovská tvrz gallery during May. Selected pictures will also liven up T-Mobile's office buildings in Prague, Hradec Králové and Louny.

The competition is open to young artists up to thirty years of age. Submitted works should be created using a freestyle graphic technique. Freestyle graphic art is respected for its specific method of creation and the different techniques within this area require extraordinary skillfulness. Due to labour-intensiveness, this technique is currently rather on the periphery of artists' interest.

The decision on the award will be taken by an independent jury composed of experts on graphic arts. Its president will be Joska Skalník who is also the patron of the project. Other experts to evaluate the works are, for example, the graphic artist Oldřich Kulhánek, Simona Hošková, art historian and director of Central Bohemia Gallery and Publishing, and Vladimír Suchánek, graphic artist and president of the Hollar - Association of Czech Graphic Artists.

The deadline for submitting works is 15 April 2005. For further information see www.t-mobile.cz/perspektivy.
